I have aluminium windows and sliding doors and a lot of our window frames are very scratched and dented. The builders are saying they will just fix it, but my inspector is saying as its powder coated they would most likely need to replace otherwise it wouldn’t appear like new.
Having so many trades involved in building, sometimes items can get damaged, mostly this damage is superficial, but sometimes it can go deeper. But don’t worry, because all is repairable in the right hands.
A repair should be invisible in normal light viewed from around 1.5 metres, and the repair will be guaranteed for the same time as the original guarantee.
Should it be repaired with powder coat?
In many ways, wet coat is more robust and durable than powder coat, and is preferred for example for ships and other exposed items. So leave it to the experts…
