Subsill Drainage System

Ecoeco offers a subsill drainage system that complements our Awning Lite Windows, Sliding, Stacker and Corner Door products.

In response to evolving Australian architectural trends where homes enjoy an effortless transition between indoors and outdoors, the demand for products that feature a rebated sill for a ‘zero threshold’ installation has increased.

Ecoeco’s Commercial Series Awning Lite Windows, Sliding, Stacker and Corner Door products feature a 50mm sill which can be rebated to achieve this luxurious design trend. Where a water permeable external surface (like a deck) is featured, the installation of Ecoeco doors is quite straightforward, however, where concrete or paving is required, greater complexity is involved.

When is a subsill drain required?

For concrete or paving exterior solutions, a subsill drainage system must be positioned in place prior to your Ecoeco door being installed. This involves a subsill drain being placed below the floor surface to collect water and channel it into an exterior drain so excess water cannot pool at the product – helping to maintain the home’s structural integrity.

How do I arrange a quote?

Ecoeco offers a subsill drainage solution that is compatible with a wide range of Ecoeco door products. Sales consultants can prepare a quotation for the supply of this additional item, which will require installation by a qualified plumber.

What technical support is provided?

Once a quote has been accepted by the customer, the Ecoeco technical team will produce a series of custom drawings that outline the product’s width, internal drain width and external stud opening measurements. Customers are then required to review and approve the technical drawing before the subsill drain goes into production.

Note: All final product sizes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Installers are aided by custom technical drawings with vertical x-section detail to assist with site welding, highlighting the relationship between the sill and drainage system. Should a customer select a corner door product, our technical team will prepare an additional resource that allows the installer to triangulate each of the set-out points to ensure the product is correctly fitted.
